Allan was born in Whangarei, New Zealand.  His family immigrated here from Scotland and Canada around the turn of the century. Allan is a enthusiastic kiwi guide and has a passion for guiding and relishes his role in being a tourism ambassador, showing off his country and explaining what makes it so special.  He has been doing this for many years over which time he has gained enviable experience and knowledge of New Zealand’s extra special places and stories.

It started at age 18 years old with his first job after leaving school, by chance with two New Zealand icons of the tourism industry, Ivan and Godfrey Bowen.  These the world famous sheep sharers who conceptualised and brought the Agrodrome near Rotorua to life.   Following this a close American friend kept sending their guests to Allan knowing he would provide a guiding experience not elsewhere available.

The areas Allan can cover are the following but not limited to:
Wine & Food (Farm to Table)
Sightseeing throughout the North and South Island
Allan is a renowned Photographer and is happy to share his knowledge.
Film Locations
Sailing Americas Cup
Maori Culture
Sking (North Island winter)
Cruise ships, shore excursions

His images have graced magazines and galleries the world over having done international ads for the film industry and worked with some of the names behind the products you all know and have watched.

Allan explores in great detail his itineraries, often introducing a number of interesting people along the way.  Allan indicates here “For me what we at Crow tours offers is a story about the people of the land and culture with some good spirited humor, no two tours are the same".  A great example of this is on a recent trip with an overseas TV host Allan jumped the farmers fence (with permission) and took the top off a beehive managing not to get stung and gave the guest a first hand taste of raw Manuka honey.
